The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising started on April 19, 1943 and lasted until May 16 of the same year. It took place in Eastern Europe this event happened because the Germans planed to evacuate all the Jews from the ghetto but the Jews did not want that to happen so they fought back. The groups that were involved were the German Police and the Z.O.B this stands for the Jewish Fighting Organization. This event lead to the holocaust and was going on during World War two.
In the event the Germans entered the Ghetto for the last deportation. The Jews hid in the Ghetto that morning and were armed with many different types of weapons such as pistles, rifles, grenades and a couple automatic weapons. The Jew fighters held the evacuation of the ghetto to over a month when it was only supposed to take three days. There were Seven hundred and fifty German police with rifles and pistols ready to attack. The Jews did not want to just let the Germans capture them with a fight. The Germans did what ever it took to get the Ghetto back under their control; they did not care if that meant to kill the Jews. The Germans tried to destroy the Ghetto: that was part of a plan to get the Jews to come out of the buildings that they were hiding in, that was very helpful to the Germans success. All the Jews that the German found they took to various concentration camps. On May 16th German leader announced that the fighting was over and they were going to blow up the Great Synagogue as a celebration the Great Synagogue was located right outside of the Ghetto. Finally after almost a month 56,065 Jews were captured and brought to concentration camps. Also there were 300 Germans and 7,000 Jews that were killed in this event. This is what happened in The Uprising of the Warsaw ghetto and how many Jews and Germans were killed.
